Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian (Canadian-American) is a feminist media critic as well as a public speaker, and Canadian. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency the website which provides commentary and videos on depictions of women's roles in popular media. Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian-American blogger and media critic that has received prizes for her work, is an activist blogger. Feminist Frequency, a web-based resource dedicated to education, which examines women's role in the narratives of pop culture It is the brainchild of Anita Sarkeesian. The site also has the director of operations. The challenge of destroying stereotypes regarding women is the main goals of her work. In addition, Sarkeesian discusses issues of specific harassment of women on the internet and for other groups which are left out. Sarkeesian holds a York University master's in social, political and philosophical thought. In addition to being an acclaimed public speaker, she has given speeches at the TEDxWomen XOXO The XOXO Conference as well as the United Nations Broadband Working Group. Feminist Frequency was created in 2009 by Sarkeesian, university student who has been interested in issues related to gender and feminism for a considerable period of time. The ambitious lady planned to launch an internet series on the role of gender in games but was the target of a harassment campaign online. This attack didn't stop her, but instead strengthened the determination of an activist for women in media. She has won several awards for her contributions to feminism. Anita Sarkeesian was a multi-award winner for her work as a journalist. She was also the creator and director of Feminist Frequency a nonprofit educational group that focuses on pop-culture representations of females.
